Bude is around a 15 minute drive (bus stop also 0.5 miles away) with its shops, restaurants and beaches. We are truly spoilt for choice with our beaches and have everything from golden sand at Widemouth Bay, Sandymouth and Summerlease, stunning folded rock formations at Millook and Sandymouth, rock pools to explore and clamber over at Crackington, Crooklets and Widemouth, plus great surfing and the opportunity to hire equipment and book lessons locally too.
Of course, the water is a huge attraction here with many nearby beaches known as great surfing spots. Board hire and lessons are available from many beaches, along with kayak hire, coasteering and other water-based adventures.
The stunning southwest coast path can be found 2 miles away, and we are also situated right on Sustrans National Cycle Route 3.
The beautiful harbour village of Boscastle is about 20 minutes away by car, and the home of the legendary King Arthur is found at Tintagel Castle, around 25 minutes away. The mystical St Nectan's Glen offers a walk through lush forest before reaching a waterfall, and there is a nature trail for children by the tea room. Nearby are the mysterious labyrinth rock carvings at Rocky Valley dating from the early Bronze Age (1800-1400 BC), keep walking to the coast path for sea views and a small waterfall.
Other options for entertaining younger visitors include Hidden Valley puzzle park, Camel Creek theme park, Trethorne leisure park, and swimming pools at Bude and Camelford, all less than 30 minutes away. Many more attractions are found only slightly further afield.
